Outer Borough
Outer Borough is a free standing modular floor lamp designed to support a pendant luminaire. The lamp combines a high-strength cast concrete base with a double-leaf steam-bent oak arm. The concrete surface is densified, polished, sealed and burnished for a hard reflective finish. The arm is joined to the base with stainless steel spacers and black-oxide connectors. Assembly is done by two people in a few minutes, and adjustable feet correct uneven floors. The pendant plugs into the top of the base, next to a switch or dimmer. The platform can also hold pendants made by other designers.
Outer Borough Floor Lamp by Matthew Haseltine has been selected as an innovative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Outer Borough Floor Lamp received the Iron A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2021. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which celebrates superior design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
